First can anyone tell me where time goes? I cannot believe my puppies are 5 weeks old today!!! It seems to me they were just born and I have thought a time or two that I could see them growing before my eyes!!! And they are so very precious! Sweet ,sweet puppies! Playing, jumping, running (well their version of it) rolling each other, snuggling, sleeping, eating, crawling in my lap…. the list goes on… So much fun to watch and play with!
But they are starting to “grow up” they want solid kibble! They potty in the leaves I keep for them in their room in the shop. They like me as good as they do their Mom” Abilene” (Yeah they figured out real quick I brought food with Goats Milk in it) pretty tasty stuff! AND Abilene is not so fond of their teeth when they nurse. She is telling them now and amazingly they under stand! She is still good to them cleaning and wants to be with them watches over them and if one plays to rough with the other she settles that too!
Saturday the puppies were allowed out of the Whelping room for the second time. They played real hard in the hay and gravel for about 30 minutes then they said “we are tired we want to go to bed!” They slept the rest of the afternoon tired from their adventures with plenty of things to dream about in their puppy dreams.
Today they stayed out all day under the shed in a makeshift pen in the hay. They had a great time! By late evening Les and I put them back up and they seemed very happy to eat and go to sleep some more.
Maybe by Wednesday we can test them on the ducks.
A sad thought came to me today 3 more weeks and I will be sending them to their new homes. Sad for me but so very WONDERFUL for them! Just three more weeks…..
