Our beautiful Tallie, born March 2021. She is everything I hoped for out of KAT and Drover. My blue eyed baby girl! I often say she is Abilene reincarnated. She’s got the same compact but athletic build and charming ways her granddam Abilene had. I am convinced she can make friends with anybody. She is all about the work though when we head down to the sheep.
I haven’t put much formal training on her yet but because of her natural instinct and biddability, I was able to enter her in her first trial in the spring 2022 at 13 months old. I ran her in level three on a Herding Ranch Dog course and we came away with a qualifying score of 83pts. Not bad for a baby dog! I was blown away with her ability to adapt to that situation being that she’d never seen a course before or really even officially worked at all. That course had some challenging pieces but she handled it all like she’d done it a million times.
Tallie is also an awesome swimmer and can be found in the pond or at least damp from pond water if it’s the slightest bit warm outside! She taught KAT’s last litter of pups how to swim. We went on a walk around the pond and she hopped in with all 10 pups watching her, then before I knew it the pups began following her in. She is great with puppies. Very gentle and mindful of how she moves so as not to hurt one. If she’s anything like KAT and Abilene she’ll be an excellent mother someday too. She’s biddable, intelligent, athletic and pretty easy on the eyes to boot. I love my little Tallie Ho and can’t wait to see how far we go as a working team!
