Les and I trimmed the Grape Vines at Momma’s. Daddy planted them 40 some years ago and we take care of them still. They are quite a job! The puppies and the Big Dogs went with us and had great fun playing on the bank and in the tall grass in the field while we worked.
Latter this afternoon the puppies and the big dogs went with me to the sheep pens to do chores. Drover is learning to separate my duck flocks and pen them in two different pens. I have been showing him what to do… Now he is being asked and let do it on his own. This is working okay. We have some rough spots but he can be sent out and brings the ducks in fairly good. Some of the Muscovies go it alone and they are difficult for him but he is getting it done. No one has lost any feathers to speak of. All the puppies watch and then try to help. That gets to be kinda fun at times!
While Drover was working and Amarillo blocking in her down stay position the gate, the puppies watching all this… Montanna, Abilene, and BOO got on a snake in the edge of the woods. Well the snake was no match for three English Shepherds that hate snakes! They made short work of that black snake, I had to hunt to find a part that was identifiable!
We did our walk around the big field and through the woods and back by the pond where 5 little puppies plopped into the pond for water and cooling off! And on back to the house for nap time then supper! Tired puppies!!
