Today was the first day of March! She came in like a lamb… (will go out like a lion) as Grandma use to say….I smiled.
Last night we had lots of needed rain… and some of the worst thunder and lightening. (It will snow in 9 days) as Grandma use to say…I smiled
I looked my garden over it was just plowed and thought of my Grandma’s beautiful gardens full of corn, beans, potatoes, tomatoes, squash and cucumbers (her favorite) and complete with a row or two of petunias, marigolds and zinnias. I remember my Grandma telling me as I covered the corn and beans with dirt and my bare feet that my Great Grandpa Delk use to do it the same way…(I never knew him it is just the way I do it) …I smiled
Les cut wood today and I helped get it up like Grandpa and Grandma use to do…I smiled
I used a duck egg in cooking today and I remembered Grandma’s delicious cakes made with duck eggs and topped with homemade chocolate icing and …I smiled
I caught a glimpse of Grandma’s house through the trees and I thought of her …I smiled but a tear was there too….
