Rain…………

WOW! I have no idea how much we got but it has rained since about 1:00AM . I spent last night in the whelping room with Ms. Amarillo! She is really close to delivery! I was able to cut all the hair away and all is ready I think.

Of course she has chosen the leaves for her whelping bed! So I have covered them with a big comforter and blanket.  She goes out to potty so its all good! The Last litter (her first) she was kinda particular about her potty site. My friend Rebecca lent me an old book on whelping and breeding from the 30’s lots of good information… I had it on the table in the whelping room to read. Along with several other books and a bottle of Gator aid and my reading glasses right beside it.  A couple of days after her delivery she had to potty and so  in a  room 12 x 16 she jumped up on the table and pottied on top of Rebecca’s old book. Never a splatter or speck on anything else just all on top of that book!  Go figure! You can bet there is NOTHING like that in that room now! I still have to replace that book but guess what ? I have not found it yet! Thank goodness Rebecca loves Amarillo too!

I am always excited! It seems like the 9 weeks just melt away for me. Amarillo might have a different opinion! She is quite uncomfortable, bordering miserable I would say. BUT the homemade fried chicken she ate today was pretty good and made her know she is very special! Silly girl has all but refused food unless I cook it! She just has my number!
