Les, Buck and Dillon (10 yrs old) rode horses here today! I was going to but it was windy and very damp. Plus I really did not want to leave Amarillo alone . Les said no dogs on this ride so I put them all up for 45 minutes and then turned them out. Well BOO took off (she is officially Les’ dog now) TRACKING HIM!! I would not have believed it if I had not watched her do it! Lucky for me and most likely her I caught her and she came back to me. I penned her till he returned! He had went across the road and was planning on riding along the road some so he did not want her along for that reason!
We all 4 went to the horse sale this evening and Dillon and I did not stay long. We left to eat and pick up feed then home to check on Amarillo, and then we put the feed up and fed horses, ducks and sheep. I found 5 duck eggs today!
While we were here we caught up 6 Muscovy hens and 1 male Muscovy for Dillon and Buck to take home with them for their pond.I am trying to get my old Muscovy hen to sit on some duck eggs I have but I do not think the timing is correct. I looked in the Farmer’s Almanac and it says the 14 th of the month. Oh well I should have eggs to sit by then too.
Got the clippers for Amarillo and tomorrow is the day of the big hair cut! She is really looking wide and is feeling uncomfortable. She sits alot so much so she falls asleep sitting then catches herself. Poor thing! She just looks at me like why? Such a sweet easy going girl! She likes that whelping room! Plenty of food, cool floors, soft bedding, quiet, safe, her den! Yeah it isn’t going to be much longer! Question is when do I start staying out there with her?She could stay in the house but prefers her room! I am sure she knows best in this matter!
