Oh My What A Wonderful time I had!
Les and I kept our friend’s 3 children while they went out to dinner for their anniversary.
The first thing we did was make a cake (with duck eggs) . The children thought that was cool and then we sat with Amarillo and petted her while she nursed her puppies. Course we played with the puppies too!
Then we went “walk about ” up My Road on the mountain and we looked for Bob Cat signs. Which we FOUND! Paw prints and scratches in the dirt! On across the mountain pasture we walked talking and looking at wild flowers, and tracks some of deer….. Then down the old road we walked through the growing set out pines..will be a forest before long. We made it to the old woods pond and little feet were tiring. So we stopped and discussed which way was home, what to do if something was to happen to me how they would get back to the house. Then we discussed tracking and back tracking. Why it is all ways important to pay attention to where one is at.
Then we walked up the runway into our pasture with the horses and back across the dam to the house. We went and fed the horses and sheep and ducks on the gator and then went to the house to finish the cake decorating. They had a great time doing that and then supper was hot dogs and hamburgers.
All to soon it was time for the children to go home. What a wonderful fun afternoon!
