Making Hay…

It is May and Hay Time!  The grass is ready! Now to convince someone to cut and square bale our hay!  Use to there were Farmers with the right equipment. No so any more! The ones that do are busy or too far away. Or they promise and never show up! Tomorrow I will go see a fellow and talk to him ! Cross your fingers!

I looked the fields over today and the mountain pasture as well! It is all ready and a fair crop! All the dogs went except the puppies and Abilene. She is still interested in Drover!

Night before last the coyotes woke me out of a dead sleep at 3:00 AM they were so far away I was surprised I woke up! Then in a few minutes the dogs started barking! It was just like the coyotes we heard at Mt Rogers on our last pack in trip!  My dogs and puppies are all up in crates pens and on the porch,  and the gun is loaded and ready! Plus the shop light is on!

My ducks have laid two nests of eggs! and working on a third one! Maybe they will hatch them for me!

Tomorrow fly control for the horses and worming!

Next week I have a pack in trip to Pisgah National Forrest to teach Leave No Trace to the Back Country Horsemen’s Association! I am looking forward to going!
