From Nine Puppies to Four in One week! Yes it is hard! But necessary, and part of the deal! I am asked by so many folk “How can you part with them?” And my answer is: When I decided to breed I knew the puppies would be leaving at eight weeks for their forever homes. So that is not an issue. I know what is best for them and LOVE the puppies and want the BEST for each and every one. Which is what I learned and was taught, you do what is best for those you love, no matter how you feel. And it was taught by living it before me not in word, but in deed! And the BEST is not staying here with me! It is going to their new homes prepared to the best of my ability and loving them while they are here all I can and teaching them things they need to know and the tummy rubs, Lots of tummy rubs! Oh and all the puppy kisses! Never too many of those for me! My favorite is puppy swinging! AND Puppy Walk Abouts! Well you get the jest I love English Shepherd puppies! The very name English Shepherd creates a stir in my heart that I can not begin to describe.
And that is the thing, I like other dogs but I love English Shepherds. It has all ways been there this special feeling since I was 3 years old I think. I do not know why. It is a mystery I suppose… Like why the smell of a horse makes me feel like it does.
So you see I can let the puppies leave because I have carefully prepared the puppies and very carefully chosen the best home for each puppy. Then I wait for stories and photos of the puppies and their new lives as the best English Shepherds that they can be! And all the love and joy that they bring each new home!
That is “HOW” I can stand it!
Wednesday One puppy is leaving then Two on Saturday and the last one On Sunday!
I expect it will be quiet round here! And time for all “My” dogs to be special and have tummy rubs and kisses as well as walk abouts and time with me. My how they have been tolerant! Good dogs !
