An update on Ranger (Parker from Mar.2011 litter) below from his forever family. This puppy was very determined, sweet and playful while he was here. He showed interest in our ducks and was very alert, keen and independent. It is so nice to hear he is adjusting well with his new family. ~Kay
Yesterday morning when we went out to milk, one of the baby calves got loose and Ranger was right there to put him back in his pen. Jack has been training him to ‘sit’ and is now working on ‘stay’. Ranger is learning that he isn’t allowed inside the barn that we milk in and last night was the first time that he did not try to come in. He takes his job of telling all the farm animals (especially the pigs) that he is the boss quite seriously 🙂 as long as the pigs are on the other side of the fence! He still isn’t sure about them, but doesn’t want the pigs to know that!!
Jack is also working on teaching him to ‘leave it’. This one is a bit more difficult for Ranger as the cats are a big temptation at times. I think one of his favorite times of the day is when we let him play with all the little children! He gets just as excited as they do! By the end of the day he is so wore out he is just as ready for bed time as we are! Ranger has been a joy and a blessing for the family and farm.
