This coming Saturday and Sunday …Les, Drover and I are going to a sheep trial in Burlington. It will be at Findley Vue Farm on HWY 62 North.
I am very excited and I think Drover is too! We have been working each day and I can see him getting better and better and listening more to my commands.
He is something and a sweet dog too! Yeah I kinda like him a lot!
Tuesday we worked sheep and ducks at Findley Vue Farm in between rain storms. We all got soaked and the sheep became very clean!
Findley Vue Farm is a nice place to trial. Plus it is so close compared to most trials.
We will be doing the HTAD I course #2 . HTAD I is more for the just started dog and you are allowed a bit more help with the dog and the stock. But you have the sheep in a pen to start with (3 to 5) sheep and you bring them out into the arena and shut the gate. Then you take the sheep around two obstacles and then through a Y chute and down and through a fence opening and on over to a holding pen where you pen the sheep and shut the gate. Then you bring the sheep out and over to a point where your dog holds the sheep still and then on up to the gate while your dog holds the sheep back and you open the gate and the dog brings the sheep back into the pen! WHEW!!!!! Yes it is a lot! But oh so much fun and work!
Cross your fingers and paws that we have two qualifying runs!
