Sheep think that the grass is greener and better on the OTHER side of a fence!!! I have one sheep named Belle, and she is difficult to keep inside a fence! And she has one or two sisters that go with her once she makes the hole.
What she does is push, push, push at the bottom of the woven wire fence.(Now mind you I have it fastened down with tent stakes) But she keeps working at it till it gives way and out she goes!!! I don’t really care as long as they do not all get out and leave! They usually just eat grass in the big field till feeding time then they wait at the gate for me to open it and one by one they go back in for their cracked corn!
I have fenced in an acre of green grass across the drive way for them and plan on putting them in it tomorrow! I sure hope Mr. Wooly is agreeable to following the girls across the OPEN field and the driveway!!! Drover and I will try it in the morning! Wish us luck!
