SHEEP!!!!!!

It is so wet and messy here (not complaining about the rain) we need it ! The grass is still green and growing a bit. Because the weather has not been that cold yet. In all it has been a mild, wet winter.

I put the sheep in the stall at night and turn them out during the day. The pasture they have been staying in is pretty much gone. But it is way to wet to move the fence.  I use (electro braid fencing for sheep from Premier)…

So I have been turning them out and allowing the sheep to graze where they please. They have lots of green tender grass it is scattered and they wander round and eat it! They are happy and I do not have to move fence. I doubt it would stand back up as wet as the ground is.

Yesterday I left the sheep out and went to Lexington for 2 hours. When I came home no sheep in sight! Not good!

I told Drover “Go Find The sheep and bring them to me!” (thinking I might ought to find a safe place to stand!)  And I started calling them “Sheep Sheep Sheep!”  I heard the bells ! The nuts were up the hill behind the barn! In the woods!

I never did see where Drover went to look for the sheep (most likely down the hill in the field), but I called and they came ALL SIX of them! As they went in the stall I counted as I do everyday! 1,2,3,4,5,6,? What!!!!???!!! Where is 7????And guess who it is ! Tha’s right BELLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aggravating sheep!!!! Why what where! I did not have much light left and knew I had to find her fast! Now I was concerned and wondering what I was going to find! Drover came flying in and   we got the Gator out and as I was looking down across the field I saw her!!! YES! Crazy sheep was in the duck lot!!!!!!!!!

She had torn in to the duck lot ! (YES torn) And had eaten their feed that was left over!!! She is one chow hound and goes where she pleases! Drover and I convinced her I had corn and she would receive it if she followed us back to the barn! She trotted right along with the gator and into the stall!

I am fairly sure 6 of my sheep are bred and likely the 7th one as well. They seem to be looking a bit bred. It is not from over feeding for sure!

Maybe a sheep video today along with a puppy one !!!!!!!!!!
