Today , as most days we had to move the sheep from the pens to the field where they eat grass.
This changes fairly often depending on the size of the grazing area Kay has fenced for the sheep.
Yesterday Kay was pretty upset…She had traded a Spring Ram lamb for two Spring Ewe lambs and they were delivered Saturday afternoon. Well they died yesterday, and we do not know why. Kay said they did not act right…They were weak and punny and wanted to lay down. They had little or no interest in eating. Poor things I was concerned about them and could tell they were bad off.
Kay had them burried last night at her brother’s…(he has a backhoe)
There was a cat in that grave too! He was strange…came up with all us dogs and we put him up a tree! Then the poor creature just died. No we had nothing to do with it I promise!
Anyway, Kay is pretty happy with my herding! She praises me ! I LOVE IT! I work that much harder! I am starting to understand what is needed and required and how to assist with the sheep.
I weare some to keep the sheep moving and bunched togeter and can put the sheep through odd angled small gates without any difficulties! (I love that too!)
BOO worked the sheep today…You know I think Kay and BOO will make a great team! BOO has it now Kay has figured out how to work with her. (there is a secret! BOO can not stand the pressue put on her by Kay carrying a herding staff!) I just bet I will have to work harder now , hum competiton!!!!!
OH! I did something really dumb today! I jumped off the Gator while it was at top speed on to the asphalt driveway! I got the roadrash on my chin! Kay fussed and fussed and said I would break her heart one day doing such silly stuff! Guess I learend my lesson, I just do not know what got into me!
