Working Dogs…

Today we spent a good portion of our day working dogs on sheep.

We started with BOO in the arena gathering up the sheep and penning them. A job that she did very well. BOO is gaining coinfidence and doing a great job! She is easy to work with ! I am thinking of trying Jr. Herding with her! Will see if there is space in December!

Drover worked the pens and put the sheep in by 3’s…BOO watched and sat quietly in a stay on the arena side of the gate, when finished Drover laid down in an empty pen and slept the afternoon away!

Ben, Connie May’s new dog came down and we worked in the sheep pens with Ben! What a very nice young (7 month old pup he is!) Boy I liked him a lot!  He was eager to work but very interested in doing what he was told. He all ready has a fair stop on him and I can see great promise in this nice young dog. He is a sweet dog with great temprement! He is handsome as well! Smart and pleasing! He is the kind!

I allowed Montanna to work in the round pen and she did good! Still no stop…But the pen is large and the sheep are fast and Montanna is slow…With alot of want to! I had to make her stop.

Then BOO worked in the round pen. Very nice! We are getting there! My problem is she is soft when it comes to correction. But today she was more interested in woking than me telling her no.

BOO helped move the sheep out after all the work.  She did great! She has a stop! Amazing!

This afternoon Drover gathered the sheep at dark and put them up for the night!

What a nice day it was!
