The day started with very heavy rain. But the promise of spring with the warmth and wonderful smell of spring! Not to mention the green green grass!
I finished my cooking : Not before my Memories started flooding in, along with the tears!
I made deviled eggs and remembered my Aunt Anna and her ham and deviled eggs and wonderful pies! But the funny thing I remembered was how Grandma all ways saved Anna the fatback meat out of the green beans . Anna all ways loved the fat back meat! Though I doubt anyone but Grandma , Anna, and my self knew that !
I thought of Uncle Dempsey and his love of Pineapple cake! (I made strawberry dumplings this time).
Grandma’s Legendary Chicken Pie that NO ONE can make like her! (that secret went with her I fear)…
As I walked around the yard I could see Grandpa’s dogs and their lots. I remembered his new horse stalls in the lower barn filled with mares and foals like it was yesterday!
The red rose bush that the GOATS ate and Grandma said either they went or she did! (Goats LEFT on Wednesday!)
How in 1960 they remodeled the old house and how good it looks today still! Richard and Donna have made it theirs but it still is Grandma’s and Grandpa’s. They have done a good job!
I miss Daddy and Grandpa, Grandma, and Momma!
Things change, People pass, Life is for the Living! (Now that is something to ponder!)
But today was a good day the sun came out the birds sang and Yes Christ is Risen indeed!
