Puppies Week #3 Develpoment…

Week Three (Days 15-21)

DEVELOPMENT OF THE PUPPIES

• Teeth begin to erupt (BOO says yeah right They are HERE!)
• Puppies stand up and start walking since eyes opened
• Begin to lap liquids (drinking from BOO’s water bowl)
• Defecate/urinate without stimulation
• Start becoming aware of environment
• Started playing with littermates last week
• Develop sense of smell
• Puppies have started to discriminate as to where to relieve themselves

CARE OF THE PUPPIES

• Start adding stimuli (toys) to puppies’ life
• Started giving specific stresses when handling (i.e.. pinch an ear or toe gently)
• I play with the puppies and sit or lie on the floor with them.
• Started giving mushed up puppy food in the canned Goats Milk with powdered milk and I call Pup Pup Pup when I enter the room
• Weigh puppies every 2 days
• Gave puppies a dirty shirt of mine to play with
• Started weekly grooming sessions (brush, trim nails, look at teeth, etc.)

CARE OF BOO

• Feeding three times her normal amount of food (Puppy Chow)

TO DO LIST

• Purchase Goats milk (canned)
