Today the weather was nice, breezy and the sun shone bright!
The birds were happily singing and the dogs were feeling great.
All week I had planned to put the puppies in the yard in a crate connected to the X pens. But timing and weather had not been right.
Lunch time I set up the crate, then blocked the puppies in the Whelping room and moved the X pens to the yard. There are 3 16 foot long X Pens so it makes a nice lot that is easily moved from spot to spot. Plus the puppies learn early on to sleep in the crate.
The next task was to move the puppies! All 10 of them! So I took a blanket put it in my wheel barrow and put the puppies in it! They all took the ride at the same time! What troopers! They were not sure what was up but NONE were bothered enough by it to complain! By the return trip to the whelping room at dark they were no trouble at all! (Another trip or 2 and they will be professional Wheel Barrow Passengers!) It is good for the puppies!
I spent most of the afternoon laying in the grass and playing with puppies. They are so much fun. There are several that grab my sleeve and try to play tug of war! Then there are 3 that like to roll the empty bottles on the concrete!
What a fine litter this is!
Enjoy this photo my friend (and the sire owner) Pat Justus took last Friday.
