This evening when the sheep came up…Yes they come to the barn now…I counted and re counted and Looked and said “oh no! Bobble Neck is missing!” It was getting late. So Drover and I took the gator and looked in the tall grass.
Bobble Neck got her name because the coyotes got hold of her . Amarillo alerted me to the problem and the old brown ewe suffered an injury to her neck. The flies got in it before I realized and I thought more than once I was going to have to send her to sheep heaven. But I stayed at the doctoring, she still has a huge scab (you could see the bones in her neck) for a long time…It was serious! (But it was from the flies!)
She was well enough to be bred in December.
Drover and I found her in the arena in a corner! (She is the only wise ewe I have!) She was hidden and inside a fence! She has a nice ram lamb, brown like her! Reminds me of a Jersey cow in color.
So we have 7 Lambs! 2 are ram lambs. 5 ewes have lambed! 13 Ewes are still to lamb! I think there will be 2 sets of triplets and 3 sets of twins yet! Will see!
DROVER AND PUP watching the lambs and their Moms!
