Just now the dogs were on “something” up in the woods. It was the bark that told me.
Abilene, Amarillo and BOO were having a fit!
So I finally went up there with the rifle. And a dim flashlight.
BOO and Amarillo said it is up this tall tree! BOO was even running up the tree 10 feet!
Abilene was quiet and sitting under and looking up in a short tree real leafy and near the tall tree. I finally managed to get to where I could see her angle… Guess what? Ole Mr Possum was right where she said he was! One shot latter it was over!
Abilene is an amazing hunting dog! IF she says it is there ! IT IS!
We do not allow Possums around our barn…They carry EPM and there is no cure for that disease in horses (you have to put the horse down because it is a neurological disease). This tree was 30 feet from my stalls.
