Day One…
I rose early Sunday morning, excited and a bit worried about leaving. I hated to not be able to take all my dogs with us! I had made all the arrangements for the dogs staying home to be well cared for. Our nephew Jay was feeding daily and taking care of the sheep and horses as well. My friends assured me they would be stopping in as well and I know my dogs will be happier at home than in a kennel…So.
I had a hoped for Time of Departure of 10:00 AM …But as usual No Way could I make that deadline!
Finally the Chevy Equinox was packed …I was clean and dressed, Drover and Timber loaded and all the many things one has to do before you leave for an extended time was complete! It was 1:00 PM as we pulled out the drive way!
We headed up I-77 to Charleston West Virginia and then WEST WARD!
Our first night is in Louisville Kentucky on the Ohio River. We arrived at 10:00 PM.
Timber and Drover have traveled well. Drover has been a bit restless but Timber has slept. They are settled in on the floor for the night, Drover on my side of the bed, and Timber on Les’ side.
