This Evening…

047My Uncle Don and Aunt Peggy came over with a basket of figs and some jars of canned goods. Yum!

Peggy helped me with my stitching on the quilt. She showed me how to do a hidden stitch so I can stitch the Legend on the back of the ESCR/NESR Quilt! WOW! This is going to take some time. Peggy graciously offered to help. Clearly she saw how slow I am and how large my fingers became as I stitched! Hum…not sure how that happened!

I went down on the gator after they left to put the sheep up, and it was all but dark. The field smelled like sweet grass and the crickets and frogs were singing in perfect harmony. Off in the distance I could hear dogs barking.

Timber and BOO put the sheep up and Drover rode on the back of the gator,  Montanna was in the front seat and Amarillo in the floor…Abilene ran along  beside us and gave a running commentary on things.

The smell of the falling leaves , the grass and the pond all tinged with sweet honeysuckle was heavenly. There was a gentle breeze and the air was cool but not cold, just right. The day has been clear and beautiful. All the dogs were happy as we went to check on the horses. Yes the Horses were MIA and were eating well in my Uncle Richards field!  After the Gathering there will be new fencing!

Speaking of Uncle Richard he had left me a voice mail that my sheep have a slick path into his field.;) Guess since he mowed it he could see it…

As I headed back to the house the lights  from my house reflected on the pond and it was a beautiful site, as I looked back from the house side of the pond the planet Venus (or Saturn) shown brightly in the sky and  reflected on the pond. (one could have mistaken it for the Moon all most)

It has been an indescribable beautiful evening. Full of love, laughter, learning, fun, work  and peace…

God is good!
