Puppy Life on the Farm…

Puppies have such a difficult life on the farm…

At 4 weeks of age I start hauling them around on the Gator. Today was the first day they rode a lot.

This is the Abilene Drover Litter…I loaded them up at 1:30 PM after they had spent a couple of hours on the tack room porch… Well they were put on the porch but quickly as in 15 minutes figured out how to escape and get in the yard to play!

Two puppies learned you do not nurse male dogs! I doubt they will forget the lesson!

So Les and I worked on fence till dark and the puppies were with us the whole time. I had them in the crate and they sat and waited (well slept) and then rode as I went back and forth for things at the barn or house. These are solid puppies! Never a whimper not the first time! They also were let loose in the field. They played round the gator and with the older dogs and Abilene. I loaded them up at dark and took them to the whelping room. They are tired but happy puppies!

I had a quilt threw over the crate to block the wind and they were warm and snug …but part of the farm work… and HAPPY!

BOO’s Puppies got to ride to and from the tack room on the gator…They are only 3 weeks old and I think it is too cold for them to be out just yet…008 009 010 011 012

It’s deja vu, seeing these puppies. I can remember our visit to Maple Grove Farm, and picking up Rez, as if it were yesterday. Can you believe almost 2 years have gone by, since then?

Those are some beautiful puppies! Congratulations on another great litter.
