I was thinking today of Easter when I was a girl…
Momma and i would go to town and shop for a new dress and shoes (our Easter outfits) …All ways ruffly and pretty complete with patent leather shoes, and socks with lace:)
Momma all ways had a beautiful suit or dress and she looked so elegant, Daddy got a new outfit too…
Then a week or so before Easter we would boil eggs, to dye with colors. Much time was spent and great care to get the colors just right.
Then the Easter Bunny would bring a new Easter Basket on Sunday morning filled with candy and a stuffed animal…
What fun my cousins and I would have at Grandmas hiding eggs and finding eggs…Course we would have found eggs at church earlier that morning as well. The older children hid the eggs for the smaller ones. We were not allowed to look out the windows to see where the eggs were hidden!
At Grandmas we would have a big lunch…and play the evening away!
Today Les and I had lunch at home…and I spent an afternoon with my memories…It was a beautiful day.
