It was a beautiful day here in Jackson Creek! The sky was blue and the wind was out of the southwest and warm. The sun shone and I woke to birds singing and sheep bells ringing! The air was fresh and sweet and the frogs and crickets sang their happy songs.
We went to church and then I fixed lunch.
Took a nap and Les watched the race.
Later in the evening while Les and some friends fished….Drover and Timber worked sheep!
I have been working on Drover driving…Well today he did it as I stood 70 feet away in the big field and directed him! (as needed) I am so excited! This is the first time I have been able to accomplish this off long line! Boy was I happy with him!
Then we worked in the arena and did well. Still not driving in there…But we were working non dog broke sheep at first. That was a real fast deal. We changed to the dog broke ones and did well…We are penning, holding, ribbon pulling gathering out run lift and fetch, going round the cone and re penning well. Just got to get the drive going …I can see it happening this week!
Timber worked in the arena too. She is FAST! We are getting there. She has a stay…I hope to be ready for a trial with Timber and BOO in a few weeks! Will see!
Montanna cheered the dogs on. Trapper watched. The rest of the crew stayed with the fishermen!
Tomorrow I attend a sheep and goat seminar put on by the Ag dept. I am looking forward to that!
here is photo of Amarillo …She is expecting end of May! Drover Puppies!
