This afternoon…my Uncle Don Rogers called to tell me that his older brother (my Uncle Houston Rogers) had passed away this morning …Uncle Houston was out in his yard with some tools and had a massive heart attack…
Houston was my Mother’s brother…
Sigh…
I am sad…and surprised…Though Uncle Houston was up in his 80’s he was healthy it seemed except for his knees…
Years ago when I was a child …we all would go to High Rock Lake. Swim, fish and ski…They all called Houston “Ski King” He was a great skier!
We had lots of happy times on the lake and in the water…
Houston lived a good long life…His wife is devastated. They have 2 children Tony and Tammy…I believe 3 grand children and 1 great grandchild…
Uncle Houston built many houses in Randolph County …He had been a contractor from the 60’s and before that laid brick…
