This morning bright and early (before 7 AM) I was up walking with Drover and “the pup with no name yet” to go potty. I am sure I was quite cute! I had PJs on, sandals, a herding stick, and my just colored all curled up hair all over my head…But I was confident no one would see me. Then I hear it coming towards us! A truck! Ah ! Shoot Ashley had the night shift and was coming home! (Ashley and her family are renting from us for a while) Well giggle …Ashley saw us! She is still laughing though she is nice about it …This evening she did mention in passing what in the world was I doing in my PJs!
As we walked down the driveway towards the woods…the sun was a bright golden color all most blinding in brilliance! Streaming thru the opening the driveway makes into the woods! The sunshine is amazing this time of year!
We finished our tasks… Drover and the puppy were safely tucked away…I prepared for my Aunt Janet’s funeral. Janet was my Mother’s older sister and she passed away a few days ago…It was a very Baptist funeral…:-) But not too long…It made me think what I would want when I go to be with the Lord!
My good friend Ken Treadway says to have a big party and buck some horses and bulls and enjoy living! (he is in the rodeo business)….I think he has the right idea! Life is for the living!
The golden sunlight light this morning was a special gift…and reminder of All is well…
I thought about home and what that means to me…A place of rest, peace, acceptance, where you can walk your dogs and wear your PJs without fear. No matter what your hair looks like! Where your dogs can crawl up in your lap and snuggle in the swing with you. Or you can enjoy a Nilla Wafer and a glass with crushed ice and Cheerwine. A place with memories. It is up to us to think on the good ones! and more importantly a place to make memories with our loved ones! 2 and 4 Leggers!
This has been an interesting and reflective day. A day of growth and acceptance. Of surprises and beautiful golden sunlight, and good memories …
