And NOW there are FIVE…puppies

SIGH…

I love puppies! the relationship I build with each puppy is an amazing journey…

First they come into the world into my hands. I do what is needed only as needed… BOO so trusting me of me in the whelping nest. Yes not just trusting me but relying on me to assist as needed and help with the arrangement of the puppies. (All my females have been like BOO) …

Then the puppies realizing I have come into the puppy nest to check on them. They scent me…until their eyes open and then they  can sort of see me. While the eyes are opening the puppies ears are too! So scent is the first sense they can rely on.

Eyes open and it is time to move to the carport where the actions is! A Nest is created with blankets and pillows inside a X pen… Dogs coming in and out, cars driving in and out . The JD Gator going, mowing, people in and out…the door opening and closing. Dogs being fed,

Then swinging! I swing with my puppies in the evening!  I allow them to run free on the carport…then the yard. Finally to the pond they go!  It is difficult to keep them out of the pond once they know it is there!

Mornings we do a walk about to the back of the Tack Room…How they love the steep bank and the cool area underneath the Tack Room. I could watch for hours as they play. Going up the bank and then zipping down the bank! Rolling, tumbling, jumping, sliding! What fun that bank is! Every puppy in every litter has loved the bank! Come to think of it …so have most children that have visited.

Riding the JD Gator is the favorite. I put them in a crate and away we go!

Off to the sheep pens! Or fencing work…they are allowed out and they can play in the woods, or the sheep pens. All the time learning, watching, and of course playing!

The other day we were trimming sheep feet and the puppies were loose. Les said you might ought to put the puppies up. I said no they would be fine.  At some point after trimming sheep feet and doctoring them…Les said “It is quite, where are the puppies?” I said look they are all along the fence laying down and watching. All good puppies! They had stuck their heads down under the tarp I had in front of the pen and were intently watching our work!

Miss them? OH YES!!! BUT I know I have chosen their new homes well…

The text reports of early morning walks, puppy on the bed asleep , puppies playing in videos…puppies on the porch …going to the barn…all with their people! THAT is what it is all about. Puppies becoming  loved and valued members of their new families.

I have two puppies that have not been placed yet. I have not posted photos or said much about these good  Drover BOO puppies…I am enjoying them …But I cannot keep them…Well maybe this week I will take some photos and post them for folk to see!

But for now there are Five Puppies! Two leave this week…and One next week!

Meanwhile…early morning walks, trips to the pond and to the sheep pens.

I will enjoy them while I have them with me!
