That a Stockdog does is only experienced and enjoyed by the owner…Stockdogs (any breed) are not necessarily a super friendly bunch…but more aloof to other dogs and people…(they may be friendly sort of) but let their owner need to go to the field to work stock and their total focus is on the stock and the owner!
The last several days my Journey has been quite brilliant in his work moving sheep across the dam to their day pasture and back in the evenings to their sheep fold.I may have said 5 words and the rest was almost flawless…Driving, fetching, holding the gate, knowing with a nod what I want him to do. I should have photos and video but I totally forgot I had a camera!
I am blessed with good dogs, English Shepherds…that still have the ability to work stock. I have bred for this for 20 plus years…and because they are bred to work stock…my puppies thrive in any good home.
I look forward to trialing Journey in the coming months…
