Never a More Glorious , Beautiful Day …

I am very tired…But so content and pleased…

First off I want to thank God for all His blessings!  5 of the blessings are Tosha, Roger, Kynsay, Ashlyn and Graham Hunt!

Friends that I shall for ever be thankful and grateful for…

Then there are the 7 Katahdin Ewes I started with some 5 years ago…

And my Grandpa Astor J. Delk  who taught me so much about everything (farming , animals, living)  and allowed me to be ME!  No criticism ever…Only love and support and my sweet Grandma Lyde Delk. I just smile as I hear the crickets and frogs and smell the wonderful fresh cut hay on this sweet September evening. Fall was Grandma’s favorite season…

And of course my wonderful loving, supportive, helpful husband Les Keziah…Who allows me to be ME! God blessed me with you! What would I do without you! Your support and love…(and hard work)

Today I saw the fruition of all my work and understanding of “old time farming ways” as taught to me by my Grandpa. I made a plan and stuck with it…an It worked!

Roger came and cut the hay Monday . It air dried Tuesday and today I raked it With Uncle Don’s tractor and Roger’s ground driven rake, and Roger round bailed it!

My Grandpa was a good farmer and had good fields. But he passed in 1994 and the fields were let go at least on this side of the creek. When I started with my plan we had Johnson Grass growing rampant and briers, and all sorts of weeds! None were good for hay.

I ran the sheep on the field and over grazed it because of the weeds…The sheep did not mind…Finally this Spring we mowed the field before the seed heads appeared (mowed it with the lawn mower) How many have fields that they can mow with a lawn mower!

Then God watered the sheep fertilizer into the ground and tonight there is 26 round bales of good quality horse hay! Not one drop of commercial fertilizer was used!

I have reaped a generational blessing thru my Grandpa.

Thank you Lord!

Thank you Roger Hunt a true friend. (He did all the work!) I did rake and finally figured out my right side and left by the time I finished raking!

I could not be any prouder or pleased than I am tonight! Nor could I be any more Thankful !

I am truly blessed!
