Drover, KAT Ballou and I traveled to Seven Mile Ford in Virginia and picked up the ram. All is well and the girls are quite pleased to be courted!
On the trip up…I am all ways amazed by the mountains, their mystery, majesty, and beauty. The air was cool and pleasant. The sky was grey and blue and promised rain latter in the day…
I passed by many old home places, beautiful snow ball bushes…The Rhododendron was blooming. The winding mountain road had a stream with fresh cold fast running water tumbling over the rocks.
Old rose bushes had gone wild and still held their beautiful rose color and multi floral blooms along with the sweet peas and vetch along where old farm fields had been …It was a pleasure to the eye and the nose!
Old barns still being used for hay. and some for advertisements too!
Then cows and horses dotting the green hills…
Many beautiful old homes that told a story of past wealth and big families…
It was a beautiful trip…
When we arrived home the grass was nice and green and the ewes were happily chewing their cud…Tonight I hope they are making lambs for November!
