Off in the distance a Whippoorwill is calling. There must be some ashes from a wood stove there. When I was a girl Grandma all ways said they would come to an ash pile. Must be true they came here in the spring to where we put the ashes from the wood stove at! This is the first one I have heard since spring.
We got up hay today. My the memories ! The tractor running…the diesel smells…I could see my Grandpa running the tractor. I was picking up hay and Les drove the truck with the trailer. He would stop as needed to stack the hay. We got up 100 square bales.
As I rode high up on the hay round the field I had tears in my eyes. Gosh I miss my Grandpa. He was a good man. And good to me for sure. I could hear him telling me to get closer to the bale of hay! And then yelling what are you doing? Referring to my driving…I smile as I write this. It is all so bitter sweet.
Well we got back home with the hay and started unloading it in the shed. We did a great job! Lisa our neighbor helped us and I do not know how we would have unloaded and stacked it without her help!
Today Scooter went to his new forever home. He will love it there! Water to play in, a boy to run with and explore, Lots of room and freedom to be himself! I am so very happy for Scooter!
As I write the moon is full and bright…it is all most like day light outside. The silly ducks are in my front yard eating and chatting! I am going to have to start locking them up. They have become very tame…BOO is overseeing them I am sure they will be fine under her watchful English Shepherd Eye!
The sheep are quiet…I guess all the work today made them tired. This morning Gerry, Elvis, KAT and I worked sheep. Gerry is doing great!
Maple grove Farm is back to normal. Drover is snoozing on the carport, as is KAT…. BOO is on the steps and watching the ducks…my Drover BOO pup with no name is snoozing in his crate in the bedroom. He lets me know at 10 PM it is his bed time! Off to bed he goes my what a happy puppy!
It has been an amazing blessed day! God is awesome and His wonders never cease to amaze me!
