My heart is broken for my friend and puppy owner of 10 years. I pray that God will bring all the good and wonderful memories to her mind that she is able to hold them in her heart and walk with God thru this difficult loss.
Hugs and Prayers my good friend…
her email to me today:
Hi Kay,
I wanted you to know, my sweet Callahan passed very peacefully from this life yesterday, at 4:35 pm, at Countryside Vet, as she lay on her bed under a tall evergreen tree next to one of their pastures (they have an equine center there as well).
My heart is in pieces, but I’m so thankful that I was able to have her in my life the last almost-10 years. I know that our good God led me to your farm, where this precious, beautiful girl came into this world on March 8 2011, and a few weeks later, into my world, where she won the hearts as well as the admiration of everyone who met her, as her intelligence was just unbelievable. She knew MANY words and phrases – much more than I was aware of, I’m sure. She was still surprising me just a few weeks ago, in responding to something I had said to her. We would all just shake our heads in wonder.
Thank you for setting a wonderful example of caring for all your special creatures, as well as the genuine hospitality you offer to those who come to visit. And most of all, thank you for offering us humans, the opportunity to experience the joy of having an English Shepherd in our lives. I am forever grateful.
May God richly bless you, and yours,
Sharon

Hello, I think we may have met at the ES gathering in the fall of 2011.. did you come? Seems like I recall meeting a woman with a sister of Calli’s from Florida perhaps, but may not have been you. That was a big litter – 4 females and 5 males if I recall correctly. I would be interested in knowing how the others all are doing and where they are. 😌
Losing my girl so young (although I think is actually within the generally expected, life-span) has been and is, really, really hard, but as Kay mentions, the great Comforter is near and gives me peace and strength as each hour and each day passes. When our days are dark and dreary, all we need is enough light for one step at a time; looking any further down the road ahead is just too painful.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Sharon
Thank you, Kay, for sharing my email about my dear Calli, with your followers, and for your kind words of comfort as well.
It was also really neat to see the post from one of Calli’s sister’s “Mommy”
