The weather was great!
We used a 10 x 10 lot to test in. The two ducks were mixed Indian Runner and Mallard. The ground flat and grassy with leaves.
Les brought the puppies in one at a time.
The first puppy a tri male sat down looked around and then stood up excited like and went straight to the ducks! Every puppy showed interest. The surprise of the day was the black and tan female that was all about the ducks! She moved them all around the pen! She was keen! None of the puppies were afraid of the ducks and the ducks ran them over a few times. The highlight was when the keen Black and Tan female moved the unwilling ducks out of the corner and marched them around the pen like “this is what she was born to do” .
All the puppies at the end of the test were in the pen together and the ducks were not happy about being at the mercy of 8 English Shepherd puppies!
After wards all the puppies got to play on the puppy slide (the hill behind our tack room) till they could go no longer and Les and I carried them back to their pen where they slept the rest of the evening in the sunshine.
