2011 Gathering Schedule

SCHEDULE (times subject to change)

 

FRIDAY

HERDING WORKSHOP

8:00 – 8:45 AM –  Sign In (at arena on left as you come up the driveway)

Parking in field

9:00 AM until finished –  Herding Workshop with Mary Peaslee

  • Stock: Sheep and Ducks
  • Cost to participate per dog $20.00
  • No cost to audit.

12:00 – 1:30 PMBreak for lunch

Bring your lunch and sodas. Water will be available.

NOTES:

  • Bring your lawn chair
  • All dogs will be on leash unless working. Please clean up any doggy business, there will be cans to dispose of it in. Also water will be provided for the dogs to drink.
  • Dress for the weather.
  • We have a port-a-potty on site.

SATURDAY

THE NC ENGLISH SHEPHERD GATHERING

8:00 – 10:00 AM – The sheep pens will be open.

10:00 AMSign in  

  • If you are sharing pedigree information you will be directed to the Sharing Board
  • Come Early If You Can!!!
  • Bring your lawn chair and be prepared for NC weather
  • This year we are encouraging you to bring out all your old pedigree information and photos to share with the group.
  • If you are donating to the NESR Auction please let the Greeters know that and they will direct you to the Auction Room.
  • You may purchase Raffle Tickets from the Greeters.
  • $1.00 for 1 ticket  /  $5.00 for 6 tickets  /  $10.00 for 12 Tickets
  • There is a restroom in the shop and a port a potty in the field at the sheep pens, plus a restroom in the house.
  • Water is stationed all around the yard for the dogs.

10:30 AMSAR Demonstration

12:00 PMBreak for lunch

  • Please bring a side dish and or a dessert and what you like to drink. Ice, cups, plates to be provided…

1:00 PMMary Peaslee will give a talk on the History of the English Shepherd Dog.

1:30 PMAuction will start

3:00 PMCGC Test begins

 

NOTES:

  • We will have Agility Equipment set up in the back yard.
  • Come for the day and enjoy this special time with friends and all the dogs!
  • As all ways the fields and the pond is yours to play in!
  • Please keep your dogs from the livestock though. They will be penned at the arena but well away from your favorite areas!

AHBA HERDING TRIAL (open to all breeds)

9:00 AM SharpTrial Starts

  • HCT and Jr. Herding Dog (sheep and ducks)
  • HTAD I, II, III  Course #4 (sheep and ducks)
  • Please see website home page for link to sign up sheets
  • All dogs must be on leash unless working stock in the arena.
  • Please stay 10 feet off the fences while the dogs are working during the trial. If your dog is barking please move it to a distance where it can be calm.
