Drover has been herding regularly and the Girls, Montanna, Abilene, Amarillo and BOO have not… I am comfortable with Drover and we have attended the clinics and such so it is easier for ME to work him….
This afternoon, BOO was first! I sent her out to gather the sheep and she did! Then she brought the herd to me at the gate! and penned them! WOW! She is my fastest dog and can really do the job in the big arena! We shut the gate and then walked in and moved the sheep out to the arena quietly and then did the same exercise 3 more times. (pretty cool!)
Next was Abilene! She went out and did the same as BOO! Gathered the sheep and penned them! Next up was Montanna! Again she did it all just fine!
You got to figure all that watching Drover do this has helped them know what I wanted done!
Amarillo and Drover did not get to work. They will have their turn tomorrow. The sheep were too hot after 3 dogs…
And tomorrow Drover and I will move the sheep to their new grazing area on the back side of the dam.
What good dogs!
