Rain, Wind, Fall…

Today has been a rainy day.

I love this time of year as the leaves are turning their reds, golds, oranges and yellows. Still lots of green leaves as well. It is so beautiful. And that promise of cooler maybe yes even cold weather on the wind. Then there is the fresh clean air smell too.

The sky was dark like a cold January day but it was in the 70’s. Kinda confusing to one’s senses.

Drover and I went to Denton to buy some sugar for the jelly I was going to make. As we drove out the driveway the leaves had covered the road and it was all so magical feeling. I said to Drover ” we have got to get shoes on Tuff because I have got to go riding!”

I made Three makings of Pepper Jelly, Two were orange for Fall and One was Green for Christmas!  I still have enough juice for three more makings! I think I will make one red!

Plus I have at least three gallons of Blackberry juice for jelly and a gallon of Raspberry Jelly. Thanks to my good friend Reba and her berry patch!

The sheep got along good behind the dam, and the ducks loved the rain and the full terraces of water!

All the dogs slept most of the day on the porch! Yeah it was that kind of day!

Tonight the wind is blowing like it is March! The sky is changing and tells me that colder weather is moving in! We have a fire in the wood stove.

Tomorrow more Jelly making!
