Amarillo spent Friday night in the house with me. About 5 AM I put her in the Whelping Room because she was nesting. Usually that means puppies are on their way in about 3 to 6 hours. Sure enough the first puppy arrived at 9:10 AM quickly followed by 3 more!
The first 4 puppies were all tri colored!
Amarillo and Drover produced from one breeding 63 days ago 12 fine Puppies! 4 Black and Tans and 8 tri colors. They averaged 14 oz each.
I am all ways amazed by new life! The whole process. How something so mysterious and miraculous can take place and then in this case 9 weeks latter a puppy arrive into the world! Knowing where to find its dinner buckets ! Mom knowing how to cut the umbilical cord correctly (no medical schooling!) The need it has to be kept warm and it cannot poop or pee without Mom’s help! And she knows that too! Then the magical moments of bonding that happen between the Mom and the puppy! It is so awesome to be a small part of. (Most likely I hinder it!) I do have my self right in there in the way!
Then all my hopes and dreams for each little life. To see them grow and become good English Shepherds! I am tired and cannot do any of this justice. I will try again and have photos and videos in the coming days. (I do have 1 video up on the web site)
More to follow!

And to “Drover” for being not only a great sheep dog but a terrific Dad as well. “Tucker”
Amarillo is very punctual! Very exciting to see all the little ones crowded around her. Look forward to meeting them after a while.
