Honeysuckle and Puppies…

That sweet, sweet heavenly smell of honeysuckle in bloom greeted me every time I went in or out of the house or the whelping room last night. They are in full bloom and make me feel all most dunk when I smell them.

I would turn Amarillo out to potty and she would disappear into the honeysuckle to do her business. Then back quick as a flash to the whelping room door she would fly!

The puppies are nursing well and Amarillo is taking real good care of them. She is protective and has not been nervous with them this time. Usually the first day or two she is worried if I pick them up to look at them. She is usually restless and has a worried look. But not this time!  Guess she has figured out I am here to look at and aggravate her and am part of the process!

This afternoon I pulled some hair off my sheep that are still shedding and brought it to the whelping room. I put it in the puppies bed with them so they can get use to the smell of sheep now. When they get big enough, to get out and about I will see if they go look for the sheep! At least they will know the smell.

Photos soon and tomorrow I will do a short video. Today we had a herding workshop and I was too tired to do much else.

Well back out to check on puppies and Amarillo and then to bed.
