Drover’s Stockdog Journal…

Saturday Morning dawned bright and warm at Maple Grove Farm…I knew something was up for days…Kay had been preparing to go somewhere and I had a new bandanna. As she loaded up the truck, Diane Swift arrived with Jo Dee and started loading her stuff in the truck as well! Man there was a lot of stuff going into the truck!

We headed out at 7:30 AM! First breakfast at The Village in Denton, then on to Food Lion for gator aide! Finally we were on the Big Road and what an adventure it was to be! I had not a clue! I only knew there were no horses along nor were any of The Girls! Unusual!

We set out West!  We rode about 500 miles the first day and stopped along the way several times…We spent our first night in a nice motel in Louisville Kentucky on the Ohio River! Nice! Kay LOVED the river!

Jo Dee and I stayed in the AC while Diane her Aunt and Kay went out to dinner (that is what it is called in town!)
They went to the Falls of the Ohio first, and Kay LOVED THAT! It was a place with all kinds of fossils and is where Lewis and Clark started their Expedition. Very interesting! Kay has photos….

Then dinner was at Kingfish on the Ohio River between two bridges. I understand the skyline was breathtaking! The food delicious and the company charming and entertaining…The girls rode round in a cool Caddy and laughed and had a great time!

Soon they were back and we all settled in for a good nights sleep.

I did not eat!

I had no idea where we were going or what was up or for how long…

Cow Camp is what they talked about…Cow Camp? What?!!! Well soon I was to find out!!!!!!!
