Drover’s Stock Dog Journal…(day 2)

On the second day of our trip I realized we were no where close to where we were going! We rode and rode and stopped and rode some more! Kay said it was 1100 miles plus! I don’t know what that means except it was LONG and TIRING! Jo Dee was in the back seat with me and she is a great traveling companion! Never a cross word! What a good girl she is! We stopped at rest areas and some folk wanted to pet us but Kay and Diane said “No”  I would not have minded but it was okay….I get plenty of petting anyway!

We arrived at Larry Painter’s place and it was after dark. I was told to not “go on the barn (it was real nice metal nor on the horse trailer tires !) I know better than that!  I could tell we were on a farm with sheep, cows, horses and geese, oh and 1 barn cat! Plus several other dogs! There were pens and big fields. It was fairly dry there…

Kay and Diane settled Jo Dee and I down in our crates for the night and then they went to the house and settled in to. I am guessing they slept better than I did! I was worried and howled a lot for Kay!

Ernie and Artie had driven out too, and Artie had hurt his left hind leg on the way out…He had to go to the Vet the next day…Artie is an Australian Shepherd.
