Grey Morning Mists…

Monday morning I was up before sunrise. The day was all ready warm for this time of year, and there was moisture in the atmosphere. I went to the living room and looked out towards Grandma’s and Steep Rock Mountain.

It took my breath the beauty of it all! No words are fit to describe what I saw. I sat down in wonder and amazement and drank it all into my soul. Tears hit my eyes hot and fast. I could hardly breathe !

The pond was like glass, and the light reflecting in it was a blue steel grey. The sun had not come up in the east at least not where I could see it. But there was light. The trees on the back side of the dam stood stark and majestically. They reflected in the pond’s perfect mirror.

The hills were covered in  light grey mists. The valleys and hollers were a heaver grey mist, and Jackson Creek that flows through the bottoms had a heavy darker grey mist hanging over it. It was like looking at a three dimensional view of the land but in grey mists.

I sat for over an hour just drinking in the beauty of the morning and filling my soul with God’s wonder and His creation. As the sun came up the mist lifted and with it the mystery and wonder.

I came away knowing I had been given a special gift from God.

Just browsing thru the Web and came across your page..I saw that you were looking for a name for your new puppy. She is beautiful. After reading your story, which I liked very much, I think “Mist” would be a good choice.
