Something New!!!

I grew up on a dairy farm,  and the animals lived in or at the barn. Or they had special homes at the house or between the house and the barn. But NEVER IN the house we lived in …

Today Montanna moved inside with us.

She has become unsteady on her feet. Her joints are worn and have been used hard …3000 HOURS on the trails in the mountains will do that! As will jumping on off the Gator 25 times a day all her life…She is 9 years old.( Plus just plain old farm dog stuff is hard on the body).

We have her on a supplement and will see how that works, before we go to pain medication.

But for now she has had a bath and a hair cut and a combing out. So she is super soft haired. She will spend the really cold days on her soft new bed in my utility room (it is not hot in there) and if she needs the warmth of the fire she can lay by the wood stove.

Oddly I have never house trained her but she lets me know if she needs to potty!

And I can start her on her new years diet! Green beans a bit of rice, and some boiled chicken and a very small amount of kibble! I can control the amounts of food she consumes. 10 pounds would be nice for her to loose. (Me Too!)

So we start the New Year with something NEW!

She is a good dog! and one that deserves the best! Seems like yesterday I was picking her up at Rebecca’s and she and I were sleeping on the porch!

She is snoring happily as I write this and dreaming the dream of she and I on the trail with Beau and Boobie Dog!!!! Sweet dreams my good girl! and Good Night!
