From the moment she climbed into my lap, wiggled into my arms and licked my face, I was hopelessly in love with a black and tan ES. In the beginning a challenge and I was surprised by that, now just the best. She taught me so much. I could not find a better mother and just plain smart. Abilene was loving devoted, patient and kind to her puppies. I was so blessed to be hers. She loved trail riding, chasing/ treeing squirrels a great ratter, and could (and did) climb trees. She was a tough snake-killer and 30 pound ground hogs are no match for this girl. She worked the cattle and horses for me and was a good low heeler. I expect she would have done about anything I asked her to do.
