Dallas was owned by Ed Lynn Jarratt until Lynn’s untimely passing, March 2008. I feel it is a great gift for Dallas to have come to live with us. We had some misunderstandings during the first 4 months of living on the farm, but all was well a year later. He worked his way through his difficulty of losing his owner of 8 years and what a dog he has turned in to. He hadn’t had much freedom before living with us, and he has took to it.
He loved to trail ride and was great at it!!!! Dallas loved being loose and free most of the time. He was suspicious of my shooting…and who could blame any sane animal of that? He had lots of talent and so smart…the brains were just awesome. Mr. Jarratt said of him, “brains over brawn,” and I believe it. Dallas and I got along fine. He minded me well and, of course, he thought for himself. He had an opinion, was a great guard dog, was protective…but listened well, too. He did not trouble the stock, but showed keen interest and the last litter with Abilene produced some good minded herding capable dogs. Dallas was a natural born bob tail and ESCR, IECR and UKC registered.
