Yes it has been one of those days with the kind of weather that you wish never ended!!! It has been nice and warm a bit over cast with light southerly breezes…The air has smelled like Spring!
The dogs and I spent the afternoon cleaning up horses. I have two videos on the Video page of my work entitled Tuff …Goodnight.
It was so nice to take Tuff out and brush him, boy he needed it !!! He had mud on top of mud! I scraped and raked and brushed and combed. Till I managed to get him presentable. He is a Paint horse and has white but not too much (unlike Goodnight) Tuff is easier to make look clean. Even if he is not…Seriously they need a bath! But I thought it still too cool for that…
I was thinking about riding as I brushed and of all the adventures we have had and hopefully this weekend we will be able to ride at Uwharriee with friends!I looked around and in the barn isle there laid SIX English Shepherds watching the work in progress… and I wondered what they were thinking! But outside of just enjoying the moment with me I don’t think they were thinking! They were all so relaxed and just plain happy to be there with me and the horses…You could all most hear the sighs….
Latter when I finished I took the horses to the pasture and turned them loose. I hope my plan works. I lightly brushed some vegetable oil into their coats to make the mud not stick and come off easier Saturday morning. Yes I was careful to not put it on their backs! Just in case it does not rain tonight! Don’t want saddles slipping in oil!!!
The puppies are growing FAST!!!!! Today they ate ALL their food and Goats milk for the first time! Latter this afternoon when I checked on them I thought they had grown since Breakfast!!!! They are running round playing and having a big time with each other. They come running to me now! (Course some of them have to stop for a potty break before they get to me!)
We had some server problems today so the photos from yesterday were not loadable on the website. Yahoo’s fault! But fixed now! And maybe we will get those up soon!
The wind has picked up considerably and I expect thunderstorms tonight.
