Yesterday I spent all afternoon outside on the ground with Nine of the Sweetest English Shepherd Puppies I have ever known! (this is all ways true!)
The afternoon was warm with a soft south west breeze. The sun was shinning but it was some what overcast with big white clouds and some way off blue skies!
The crickets and frogs were singing “SPRING” ! Oh Happy Day! I even heard a rain crow… And the biggest Red Headed Woodpecker I think I have ever seen was knocking round a bit!
Add Happy grown Dogs and Nine 4 week old English Shepherd Puppies my self and 7 sheep grazing with their bells softly tinkling in the distance and you have the recipe for a wonderful afternoon!
I sat on pillows with the puppies while they played with me and each other as well as Montanna and Drover. (There were photos but not good ones!)
I noticed the puppies feet were so pink and soft. I thought about all the places they would go and the things they would see as they grew up and how those soft paws would become toughened up !
The ears all tiny and sensitive some with curls on them were interesting. Little black noses sniffing for Momma and me too! How when I kiss their little faces they open their mouths as if to protest all the kissing (actually they seem to be yawning ) “Oh No Not kissing again!”
Oh! and their little soft full tummies! Oh so soft and silky! When turned on their backs and rubbed how that calms them and back to sleep they go!
The grass smelled like grass in the spring just greening up. The puppies smelled like a sweet sticky soft smell. Not bad but a bit like a puppy I suppose. Okay you have to smell it to know it!
Then I cuddled up with all Nine Puppies and they went to sleep as I lay in among them I marveled at their sleeping habits and ability to stay warm! And to just have them all snuggled in with me all so close ! Heaven!
What a breath taking afternoon! What Sweetness, Softness, and Wonder!
My what Fine Puppies they are!
