Today Drover and I had to round up our “Rogue Sheep Flock” ….
After fixing the Blue Gate (their means of escape) I left the sheep out for a while. But needed to go see my Mother in the Rehab center…I knew I might be late arriving home. So we walked down to the field to gather the sheep.
They had worked their way around and behind the Duck Arena, making Drover’s Job difficult at best. Some were on the East side some on the south side and about half on the west side. There are woods on the east side of the field and duck arena, and an old barbed wire fence on the south side . And about 20 feet between the duck arena and the two boundaries.
I sent Drover in a Come Bye and he went to my right (Clockwise round the outside of the arena) I had my back to the arena so he went east. I started walking toward the now repaired blue gate and as I made my way Drover gathered all the sheep and brought them to me quietly, carefully, and efficiently!
This sounds like not much. It was a difficult job, preformed perfectly by Drover!
This dog amazes me!
Without training this would not have been an easy task. But it seemed like nothing to us!
