The Last Time…(a passing)

Today a little lady from our church went on to be with the Lord. Ms. Joyce Gallimore…She was very short and small.

She never married…She lived in the home she grew up in… till her passing except for the times she was to sick and had to be in hospital.

Latter in life she could not hear much at all. But she stayed mostly by herself after her Mother Mrs Luda Gallimore passed many years ago. She was a bit stubborn …. I think…:-) But God gives us all gifts and traits to help us through our lives!

Ms.Joyce was tough. (I say this because she endured much pain from her broken bones thru the years and arthritis)

In 1988 when Les and I were married…I remember Ms. Joyce loving the duck pattern of dishes we picked out…She was so generous to us with her gifts.

I remember how she went to Grandmas often and loved to talk…she would all ways tell me how she loved my Grandma…

She all ways complimented me on what a good brother I had …how he was such a good neighbor…

She also loved my fried chicken and Pineapple Cake! She loved to eat at The Village Restaurant in Denton and did often!

Ms. Joyce worked in a hosiery mill for years and then at a local motel in Asheboro. She was no stranger to work…

She loved horses (I do not know if she ever rode) Also she loved her dogs and cats…she loved her family (I still remember how she talked about her brother Raymond) .

She was a faithful attendee of Piney Grove United Methodist Church all her life and loved the people there. She loved Women’s Society and the Friendly Neighborhood Club as well.

I can still see her in my mind mowing on the bank in front of her home! The last time I saw Ms Joyce she was asleep on the sofa in her home, attended by her sister.

The Galiimore family was close friends with my Grandma and Grandpa’s family. Growing up and attending school and church together. Having picnics and swimming in the local mill pond in the summer!

Ms. Joyce is out of pain now and no doubt with her Lord and Family in heaven. At peace…
