Feeling Raw…

Two years ago tonight the 18th of March…My Mother passed away quietly…surrounded by her son Kenneth and his wife Amanda, and myself…(also in attendance was my Uncle Richard, his wife Donna and my Mother’s second husband Paul Whitley)

We sang songs of faith…read scripture… and she left this world around 10:30 PM easily…

I have had a few difficult moments today … Thinking about her life…her pain…and suffering… She was what I believe to be Bi Polar. But undiagnosed…(I suspect many people are undiagnosed)

She was my Mother and I loved (love her) with all my heart. Times may have been tough and interesting to say the least… but I remember so many good things …

Like Easter Flowers! (Bluets) I can hardly wait to see them spring to life! I never fail to think of Momma when I see them.

I think of a beautiful blond haired fair lady…So very pretty…Though I doubt she really thought that of herself that way…

I think of her love for my brother Kenneth. How he was a surprise (11 years and 300 days born after me)  🙂

How she liked to dress well…had beautiful clothes and all ways looked like a million bucks!

No one made better fried chicken! or salad! She had a lemon scratch cake and the BEST Orange Slice cake ! She was as Grandma use to say a “good cook” …She kept her home clean. And was a very pleasant hostess.

My choice is to remember the good things.

One time how she took a somersault out of the boat we were fishing in at Harkers Island.. And Daddy laughing and catching heck for the miss hap! (she was fine just wet)  and mad!  LOL!

Live is short… It is to be lived to its fullest every moment!

I thank God every day for my Momma, Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa Delk!
